The Skyline Trail is considered one of the most popular backcountry walks in the Canadian Rockies. With more than half of the 44-km trail above the treeline, the views are expansive and spectacular. Most walkers choose to start beside Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park and trek north to the base of Signal Mountain. Walking this challenging trail takes between two and six days. Remote campsites are available along the route and should be booked well in advance.
