Owners Rob and Barb De Groot take the traditional approach, doing it “old school” with a style of whiskey that has to be seen and tasted to be appreciated. Opening their doors in 2015, they sell their 100% green wheat malt sour mash unaged spirit right out of their storefront. Their vision has always been guided by tradition, in a nod to the moonshiners of the 1930s. To keep with the heritage of distillers in the prohibition era, they keep everything local. Rob and Barb wanted to return to the traditional copper-pot still used by 30s distillers, turning to craftsmen in Edmonton who still knew how to braise thick copper. The result is a marvel in both function and design. They distill the shine twice and bottle it unaged, like generations of old. Visit them at their new location at the Edmonton International Airport!
