The Walled Off - The Politics of Containment group exhibition is organized by Founders’ Gallery with support from Calgary’s Resolve Photographic Services and ABL Imaging Group, and the generous loan of work by Edmund Clark from The International Center of Photography, New York City. Perhaps the ultimate denial of freedom is captivity; this exhibition brings together photographic work that explores state suppression, control and containment, and summons the never-ending quest for individual liberty and human dignity. At 2pm, Dona Schwartz will give a tour of Walled Off, accompanied by Edmund Clark, who will discuss his two projects examining the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
