The best things to do in Canmore, according to super-adventurer Will Gadd

You’ve probably seen Will Gadd, even if you don’t know it. He’s the guy on your Instagram feed climbing up frozen Niagara Falls in the middle of winter. He makes the news by winning rock-climbing championships against competitors who are half his age (that’s not a euphemism – he’s been on earth twice as long as them). He flies across the United States on a paraglider.

Gadd is an international uber-athlete, specializing in ice climbing but also excelling at paragliding, kayaking and other things you’re probably too frightened to try, and he’s been making waves in these worlds for years. But you may have never seen him like this: as a dad in his hometown of Canmore, Alberta, who enjoys a beer at his neighbourhood pub and taking his kids skating on a frozen local pond. Yet even in these seemingly mundane parts of life, his skills seem off the charts – check out how he helps his pre-teen daughter climb up that frozen waterfall. That’s parenting, Canmore-style.

Check out Gadd in his beloved hometown in the video below.
